Sega reappeared during today’s Sonic Central sonic borders with short game video followed by a much more comprehensive video by IGN.com that included first impressions of the blue hedgehog’s new adventure and unreleased gameplay sequences. You can watch both videos through the players in the news.
“There’s still a lot of work to be done, but at least Sonic Frontiers seems to be on the right track in adapting Sonic’s unique playstyle to an open world,” IGN says.
The video explains that the tested part of the game sends a message to the player. sense of mystery explore the island, accentuated by minimalist music performed with piano. This was also confirmed by Sonic Team’s creative officer Takeshi Iizuka, who said:
“Previous Sonic games have different tones depending on their story and themes. This time we have these mysterious islands as the main game setting. That’s why our artists worked hard to create a mysterious mood.”
The video then discusses Sonic Frontiers’ approach to the open game world, as well as the blue hedgehog’s challenges, environmental puzzles and new abilities.
