Dying Light 2: lead game designer explains what he wants to change for the sequel

Tymon Smektała, chief game designer Dying Light 2 Stay Humanhe said he wanted a possible follow up change something: Hero. The developer announced that he wanted a stronger character from the beginning of the game.

in an interview with Video Games ChronicleSmektała said: “If we were making Dying Light 3, then I would have liked a main character from the beginning with better skills and abilities. We basically used the same approach. [in Dying Light 2] which we use in the first game where the player starts weak and then develops as they progress. ”

Dying Light’s protagonist starts the game with very little combat and movement skills. Dying Light 2 offers a more talented character in the early stages of the game, but loses some of his abilities after the first series. The lead game designer would clearly prefer to start the game with a more experienced character.

Smektała says that since three months have passed since its release, he has brought a new perspective to the game and believes he will fix it later. “If I think about a third game, if it does, that character will have more power, more abilities, more upgrades as a starting skill set.”

Finally, note that Techland has delayed the first DLC for Dying Light 2: here’s the new release period.
