I understand what you are saying. We now come to complex questions to which I do not know the answer.
To be clear, I absolutely hate NFTs and everything they stand for.
But to be devil’s advocate here, should I tell developers not to include them in games? I like to think of it as a democracy where the majority should vote, and in the case of the NFT I feel like the majority is against it. This makes it much more applicable.
I feel like when we microtransform the same skin, some people get addicted. When it comes to popular games, they mostly pimp microtransactions. This tells me that most players are good at microtransactions.
I rarely get them myself, but I feel a little weird here. Democracy is important, even if we don’t always agree. For example, it’s still a chicken and egg situation in some cases where Genshin Impact only exists for that business model, and if it wasn’t for that business model, maybe that distraction wouldn’t exist not at all.
I think in the old game, if microtransactions are harmful, they tend to get a response from the community and for good reason. I see no problem with innocuous microtransactions that are easily overlooked, sometimes people like to indulge in guilty pleasures.
Either way, we’re on the same page, I’d rather all those predatory tactics go away, but we’re constantly being tested by the devs and it’s always good to keep an eye out.
