Trek to Yomi on Metacritic currently has a meta 71. However, it must be said that many reviews that could significantly change the overall average are still missing.
As we’ve seen, there are publications inspired by Akira Kurosawa’s samurai films that have praised the action of Flying Wild Hog, even with very high ratings in some cases, rewarding the game for its setting and style used. However, many other reviews mention poor level design and a weak combat system.
From our point of view, in our Trek to Yomi review, it’s “A good game is, in fact, first and foremost a good experience. It cleverly mixes action and reflection. War and exploration. Too bad for some ingenuity that is often not user-friendly and all of this seems to be due to inexperience rather than lack of time. If you like Japanese folklore and culture, you’ll still find something to eat even though the experience is short.“
