David Cage, in a post on the company’s official blog, twenty five years from quantum dreamOmikron: The French studio to which we owe books such as The Nomad Soul, Heavy Rain and Detroit.

Cage: “25 years old. A quarter of a century. Moving offices and computers in a rented van on May 1, 1997, I could not have imagined that this studio, created by a group of friends and officially born the next day, would still be here twenty-five years later.

Cage then described how the company’s first title was born, Omikron: Nomad Spiritie from the desire to play an action adventure set in a futuristic parallel universe in a city called Omikron: “I submitted it to all studios on the planet in hopes of developing it with their team, but no one accepted.

Nobody wanted to, and Cage and the others decided to go it alone.

Cage also reminded which magazines first showed interest in the game: 4th Generation in France and Edge in England. Hers isn’t a compliment, it’s exactly a reminder of the fact that these articles, published in the early stages of development, allowed Quantic Dream to find a publisher: “Quantic Dream would not exist without these journalists’ passion, enthusiasm, and genuine love for video games and developers.

Of course, Cage also wanted to thank all the fans who bought Quantic Dream games and the community built around them.

The success of Detroit: Become Human, which has sold over 7 million copies, has allowed Quantic Dream to become independent, that is, to finance and release titles while supporting other independent studios.

We’re working on more projects, we’ve increased staffing and recently announced, including the opening of a second studio in Montreal. Star Wars EclipseThe most ambitious game in our history, a dream come true.

In short, the future looks bright and full of projects, despite some legal issues affecting the company’s image.
