Battlefield 2042 Update Includes VoIP, End-of-Round Scoring, and Bug Fixes

Today, the DICE team released update 4.0 for battlefield 2042, adding VoIP functionality to squads and updating the scoreboard at the end of a round. The update also includes a number of other changes and bug fixes, confirming the team’s commitment to listening to fan feedback and improving the gameplay experience.

  • VoIP: VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) is now available on battlefield 2042. There are two voice chat channels to choose from: Party and Squad. VoIP settings can be changed in Options > Sound/Voice > In-Game Chat.
  • Scoreboard: In Update 3.3, a UI update for the scoreboard was released. Following this improvement, this UI update will now also be available during end-of-round screens.
  • Changes and bug fixes: This update contains several hundred changes and bug fixes stemming from our community feedback loops, most notably changes to attachments, a fix when trying to animate nearby objects, fixes to the equipment system, and a fix for players, who cannot aim after getting out of the car. The next update after 4.0 is scheduled to release in May and aims to provide more quality updates and bug fixes ahead of the release of the first season.
