Marvel United is one of the board game series that takes players to different corners of the popular comic book universe. Currently, the addition to the range of boards belonging to this brand is the game Marvel United: Spider Geddon. What exactly is it aimed at, what villains are waiting for you in it and much more we will tell you in the following points of our text.

Marvel United Stories: Spider-Geddon Takes You to the Spider-Verse

The Marvel Universe is going through hard times. In short, not all of its films are truly quality projects. One of the few that can be called successful is Spider-Man: Parallel Worlds along with its sequel Spider-Man: Into Parallel Worlds. And it is with this successful trilogy (I include the yet-to-be-released film) that the game Marvel United: Spider Geddon is firmly connected.

The main characters here are fighters who have some connection to radioactive spiders. Some he directly bites, and others he hides in the guts of a robot that belongs to them. Thanks to this, you will be able to take on the role of one of the eight characters of Marvel United: Spider Geddon for adventures. They mostly have special decks, which always have graphics on the back, so you really won’t get confused when sorting cards.

Aside from the parts that are more or less identical to all of them or handled exactly the same, they all have really unique cards with unique abilities. Penny Parker, for example, with the Metal Armor card allows her to ignore one wound after she draws it. For example, Symbiote Spider-Man gets two hits after using the Irresistible Force card. Plus, if he manages to eliminate a villain during this event, he gets one of these tokens back for them, which pays off.

In addition to new heroes, Marvel United: Spider Geddon also brings villains. Spot, who you probably remember from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Worlds, will become a staple for many players. When he is chosen as the main villain, you place his tokens with dots in each location. With their help, he can damage enemies, as well as teleport to them if he accidentally gets hit. You can also find Morluna in the menu next to him.

These bombastic villains are a worthy challenge. However, you can also fight Anti-Venom and Superior Spider-Man, as these heroes can disguise and transform into antagonists. Each enemy has a special set of abilities, a number of lives, and how locations react when they can no longer accommodate villain/resident tokens. In this case, for example, the villain is Spot, so all heroes in that destination will take damage.

The battle itself is played by the villain, who always plays his Conspiracy card, which begins his movement across the map. If they arrive at the “target” destinations, they activate the main effect in Marvel United: Spider Geddon. If he does not simply add villain and citizen tokens to the surrounding spaces. Then the heroes play, who lay out cards one by one, after which there is always a villain, who does not remain completely out of the game.

The story unfolds, and a bunch of normal characters perform three presented tasks during it, turning their opponent into a “normal” target, which can then be beaten. This is based on a well-developed cooperation mechanic, the characters can follow their last predecessor during the raid and thus make it even more salty for the villain. The game of Marvel United: Spider Geddon ends with the heroes losing or winning the villain. This can be played both against the game itself, and against one of the players who takes on the bad guy.

Marvel United: Spider Geddon Will Please Co-op Fans

Marvel United: Spider Geddon is a relatively accessible board game, despite the recommended age group. If you have slightly experienced players on hand, you can easily start playing with younger comrades. However, from the very beginning, you will have to work with the fact that you need to cooperate. Because cooperation is the key to success here.

Plus, if you have any other Marvel United pieces lying around the house, there’s nothing stopping you from combining the boxes and greatly increasing the replayability of new heroes and villains. If you’re a fan of the Spider-Verse, Marvel United: Spider Geddon is a great choice for anyone looking to venture into the Marvel Universe.
