Slovakian GTA still needs a lot of time.
The gaming industry is doing very well, which leads to the emergence of many works. One of the projects, the development of which has become possible during this time, is also the city event Vvat Slovakia, which recently went into preview and, according to some, should even be a Slovak analogue of GTA. How things are currently, the following lines of our gaming impressions will outline for you.
90s in the wild in Vivat Slovakia
The GTA series has a number of distinctive features. One of the main ones is the fact that it takes the player to wild times in which Vivat Slovakia does not want to deviate too much from its model, thanks to which, through this action game, you can look into the 90s, which were an impressive adventure. in the countries of the former Eastern Bloc. The main character of this story is an undercover police officer Milan, in whose skin the player takes on the role of a “taxi driver” who deals with ordinary people and special cases.
In my opinion, the story told is one of the main driving forces of this work. The creators take you to a dark world that depicts this scene in the rawest colors. The overall impression of the story in the case of “Vivat Slovakia” is supported by the dubbing, which definitely suits this game better than if it had an English-language coverage.
Unfortunately, the game world in which the story unfolds is hard to believe. Although there are people walking on the streets and cars driving on the roads, you can’t say that you feel part of this space, which is reinforced by the fact that the people around you react to it minimally or not at all. So you can drive your cart through Bratislava like an animal. The police only start to actively react when shooting starts. However, the guns are very easy to operate, so it’s hard to get you involved in the action.
Cars are just the tip of the iceberg of the problem
If you expect the car work to be impressive, you’ll probably be disappointed. Vivat Slovakia’s driving model is average. I would probably be able to live with the cars driving the way they do if the game wasn’t riddled with an incredible range of bugs that can plague you at almost any moment. For example, early on I went to pick up a new batch of passengers in my taxi. It seemed like nothing bad could happen, until one of the figures started pushing my cart with its body. The car ended up flying into the air, and a couple of potential customers were spinning around until they were killed by a passing driver.
There are a lot of bugs, and what’s worse, the optimization is also terrible, which is completely at odds with how Vivat Slovakia looks. The graphics page in this case failed, so I wouldn’t hesitate to call it outright outdated. The only thing worth talking about in this case is the treatment of the cars, but even they are not in the best condition and compared to how they look at other city events, they look like something that should have been here at least a decade ago.
If the kit was just ugly but ran without any issues, I would probably consider criticizing it. The problem is that the FPS here jumps like crazy regardless of the build. Of course, I take into account that the game is in early access, but even then it shouldn’t run that badly. While there may be changes in optimization, I’m not too worried about the visuals, since it’s possible that they could be drastically improved, leaving players with an even more outdated part at launch.
Vivat Slovakia is far from acceptable
Vivat Slovakia, a recent Early Access event, is undoubtedly a game with little potential. The problem, however, is that it entered this phase of development in an unacceptable technical state, which is at a terrible level. However, this is not the only drawback that this product suffers from. Another is certainly the fact that the visually lifeless city is static and the world as a whole does not respond significantly to the player’s actions.
The shooting also cannot but please fans of the action movie. The only thing that I would put in the foreground now is how the plot and dubbing are handled here, because these two elements are the main driving forces of “Vivat Slovakia”. Otherwise, unfortunately, this is a very dull and also ugly business, with which the chances of breaking through are not very high, even considering the price tag. But it is possible that some brutal changes will occur during development. However, I personally do not have much hope for it.
The Vivat Slovakia event is available in Early Access on PC via the Steam game client, where it will be available from April 18, 2024.
