The first DLC expansion for Back 4 Blood is now live. Here’s how to start terrorist tunnels.
Like its spiritual predecessor, Left 4 Dead, Back 4 Blood offers players new levels and content to continue the fight against Ridden. Tunnels of Terror, the first DLC expansion, adds seven Ridden Hives to allow players to navigate some of the legendary weapons.
Also added to the mix are two new cleaners – Heng and Sharis. This DLC comes with a major April update that adds new player cards, legendary weapons and add-ons, new achievements, and an all-new difficulty level, No Hope.
So if you think you’re brave enough to test your skills in this new DLC, you might be wondering how to get into it.

Knowing how to access DLC in any given game can often be confusing and the same goes for Back 4 Blood. Players who purchase the Ultimate and Deluxe editions of the game will activate the DLC at no additional cost. Others will have to buy it for around $15.
Now, if you know Left 4 Dead, you might be looking for a specific level to choose from to start the DLC. But it doesn’t really work that way in Back 4 Blood. Instead, all DLC content – for this expansion at least – is integrated into the main game. You won’t need to choose anything in Fort Hope, instead you’ll come across one of the seven hives set up during the game’s campaign.
Ridden Hives spawns are random, but if you’re worried about missing them, it’s a good idea to make sure a party member plays as one of the new janitors – Hang or Sharis. The Hang is a particularly useful cleaner for hunting nettles as it can detect them from a distance.
Be sure to check out everything added in the April Update and Terror of Terror DLC to see what you need to watch out for.
