The new system takes literally the adage that “the best defense is an attack.” Forward Strike this works as a way to counter opponent’s strikes and grappling attempts.

Performing this move requires half a bar of strength and can negate the damage of an opponent’s attack or even negate a throw attempt. Once it hits an opponent, it knocks them down, allowing the player to get into position to continue the attack.
Advance Strike also creates a counterattack hitbox mid-cast. If it hits the target as a counterattack, the opponent will slowly fall to the ground, leaving them open to devastating combos.
