Ubisoft has just announced that the final season of Rainbow Six Siege Year 8, Operation Deep Freeze, will release on November 28th. The new feature comes with everything including a Portuguese operator, a new map and gameplay updates.

Operation Deep Freeze adds a new Shark Defender to Ubisoft’s game, helping to make the competition even tougher. The character has a projectile device known as the Zoto Canister, which releases a freezing compound that impedes the movement of rival Operators and any other gadgets within its reach. Due to the “ice zone” left by the gadget, any tracks passing through the region are marked.

Operation Deep Freeze

However, the device can interfere with both opponents and allies, and its strategic placement will be important to ensure that players are able to regain control of the round. The Shark is an Operator with two speed points and two hit points, and carries an MPX submachine gun or AR-15.50 rifle as his primary weapon and a P226 MK 25 semi-automatic pistol as his secondary weapon.

The competition is also heating up this season with the new ranked map The Lair, which serves as Deimos’ base of operations and is designed to allow players to experiment with different styles as they navigate its three floors and multiple entrances. Each floor has its own distinct atmosphere, and the exterior features unique entry points for each level.

Just as Deimos created this ability to calculate his moves against Rainbow, users will be able to develop strategies for navigating the Lair to achieve success during matches.

Efforts to protect players also continue to increase, now with an update to the reputation system that includes more information about what affects user ratings. This season introduces a grace period during which players who come on board will learn more about player rankings and have the opportunity to improve their rankings without penalties until the reputation system is fully operational.

This is based on a praise system that allows players to praise each other after a match and also rewards players with higher alpha pack drop rates. Click here for more information.

Starting November 12, users will also have the opportunity to register for access to the Rainbow Six Siege Marketplace beta to sell or buy in-game items with R6 Credits. In addition, this season will introduce two new features: “Against AI” and “Map Training”. The first will allow users to play against defensive bots that simulate real players, while the second will be an innovative tool for those who want to learn and master the maps. Map Training will launch with seven maps, including the all-new Lair.

For added convenience, the update will also add full controller remapping, controller deadzone adjustments, and Lean Behavior, a big new feature for controller players coming later this season. Operation Deep Freeze improvements include rebalancing the Mira Operator, updates to the Frag Grenade, and the release of two Elite skins.

Finally, in collaboration with the iconic Street Fighter franchise, this season will feature two sets of characters from Street Fighter 6: Yin as Chun-Li and Grim as Ryu.

Rainbow Six Siege is available for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC, both on Steam and with a Ubisoft+ subscription. For more information about Rainbow Six Siege, click here.
