Spotify today announced the cast of the Portuguese adaptation of the original audio series. Batman Awakenswhich opens May 3rd. Except Rocco Pitanga the production for Brazil features a large national cast as Bruce Wayne.

“Creating the dark tone of Gotham City with the voices of each of the characters was a big challenge. The most interesting thing about working on an audio series is that the sound resources form images in the minds of the listeners. And for this, all stages deserve special attention,” he says. “The audio series had to sound very realistic, it couldn’t sound like animation or dubbing, which are other languages. So from the very beginning, I wanted to look at it like I’m making a movie, but with my eyes closed. We made sure to film most of the scenes with the entire cast together, which is not common in the audio market. I always thought it would give the realism we were looking for,” he adds. The audio series will debut worldwide with eight adaptations of the original US script developed for Brazil, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan and Mexico.
