Warner Bros. Games announced today that actress Megan Fox will voice and characterize the playable character Nitara in Mortal Kombat 1, the next chapter of the iconic video game franchise developed by the award-winning NetherRealm Studios and set for release on September 19th.
“I grew up playing Mortal Kombat, and I can’t believe I’m voicing a character in a new game,” says actress Megan Fox. “I’m honored to be a part of one of the greatest video game legacies of all time.”

A new trailer has been unveiled showing Nitara as the latest fighter in the main Mortal Kombat 1 roster, including revealing her gameplay and story elements surrounding the vampire heroine. Hailing from the dark and desolate kingdom of Vaeternus, Nitara fights to protect her race of vampires and uses her ferocious claws, sharp fangs and flight skills to defeat any foe in her path.

Mortal Kombat 1 is the latest entry in the iconic Mortal Kombat video game franchise, developed by the award-winning NetherRealm Studios, featuring a revived universe and a new story featuring iconic heroes and villains like never before.
The game features a wide cast of legendary fighters with completely new stories: Liu Kang, Scorpio, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Shang Tsung, Johnny Cage, Kenshi, Smoke, Rain, Li Mei, Tanya, Baraka, Geras , Reptile, Ashra, Havik, General Shao, Sindel, Nitara and others, as well as an additional cast of partner fighters who can help during matches.

Playable characters Quan Chi, Ermac and Takeda, as well as guest fighters Peacemaker, Omni-Man and Homelander, will be available in the post-launch downloadable content (DLC) Kombat Pack, which is now available for pre-order as part of the Mortal Kombat 1 Premium Edition.
Following the tradition of previous releases including exclusive skins for Brazilian stores that pay tribute to various aspects of the country’s culture, Mortal Kombat 1 will feature an exclusive skin for Brazilian players, this release featuring the “Funkeira” skin for the character Tanya. To access the skin, Brazilian players must purchase Mortal Kombat 1 directly from the official Brazilian PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Steam, Nuuvem, Nintendo eShop and Epic Games Store.
Mortal Kombat 1 is slated to release on PlayStation 5. Xbox Series PS5, officially distributed in Brazil (with Brazilian-rated cover), will feature Shang Tsung as a playable character.
