Warner Bros. Games today released a new trailer Mortal Kombat 1, the next chapter in the acclaimed video game franchise developed by award-winning NetherRealm Studios, slated for release on September 19th. Titled “It’s in Our Blood,” the new trailer, directed by Tom Kunz and featuring cinematography by Academy Award nominee Matthew Libatik (“A Star Is Born”), pays homage to the classic 1993 “Death Monday” commercial that marked a cultural moment for the giant game series.

A retelling of the iconic TV commercial first aired 30 years ago, the trailer features an actor and producer. Dave Batista uniting people from different social circles and directing them to unleash their internal struggle. Bautista’s role reflects the role Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat 1, which has created a revived Mortal Kombat Universe and must gather champions from all worlds to fight and defend their vision of their new world.
“I remember the original Deadly Monday commercial well, especially that iconic scream,” Bautista said. “That’s how my path as a Mortal Kombat fan began and continues to this day, 30 years later. I’m very excited and proud to be part of the game’s legacy.”

To access the skin, Brazilian players must purchase Mortal Kombat 1 directly from the official Brazilian PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Steam, Nuuvem, Nintendo eShop and Epic Games Store.
Mortal Kombat 1 is scheduled to release on September 19, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store). Mortal Kombat 1 can be pre-ordered through digital stores or on a physical PS5 product. Distributed in Brazil (with Brazilian indicative rating cover), will get Shang Tsung as a playable character.
