On the distant planet Rubicon-3, a mysterious substance called Coral has been discovered. As a source of energy, this substance was expected to significantly help in the development of human technology and communication capabilities. Instead, it caused a catastrophe that engulfed the planet and nearby stars in flames and storms, forming a system with a burning star. Nearly half a century later, Coral reappeared on Rubicon 3, a planet now tarnished and sealed by disaster. Corporations and resistance groups are fighting for control of this substance.

ARMORED CORE VI RUBICON LIGHTS throws players into this desert world where they infiltrate the planet as independent mercenaries and find themselves in a struggle for existence against rival corporations and criminal gangs.
