VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) is excited to announce its plans for the 2024 season, which includes many changes and improvements that will take the sport to the next level in its fourth year.
Next year will see the debut of a new international league, holding global events in new locations, and expanding courses from development to year-round competition.

Fresh start to the season
2024 comes with a new start to the season: two weeks of exciting tournaments in every international league. The tournament will select a total of 8 teams to compete in the first global competition of the season: Masters Madrid. This will be the first time that a global VCT will be held in Spain, which will definitely determine the best team at the start of the year.

Contenders: The Road to Professionals Continues
The cradle of hope for future esports champions, Challengers will evolve even further in the coming year. Taking advantage of this momentum, the calendar will expand the presence of the year-round tournament to encourage more contention in the second tier of the competition. The Challengers will also have an innovative system of joining teams and loaning players, which aims to increase the flow of players between international leagues, Challengers and Game Changers. The 2024 season is set to redefine the pinnacle of the sport by hosting an unprecedented number of elite teams at the highest competitive level. As Ascension events draw to a close, three teams will triumphantly emerge from the Contenders Furnace and earn the prestigious International League qualification for the 2024 season. Next year will see a dynamic season structure with the introduction of Championship Points. Created to improve season progression, Championship Points will be the unifying mechanism for international leagues and global tournaments, serving as both a measure of team performance and a ranking mechanism for global events.
China’s Arrival: Fourth Official League
Competitive opportunities will open up in new regions with the addition of China, the fourth official VCT league, to the preeminent group formed by the Americas, the EMEA region and the Pacific region. Recognizing the potential and contributions of the Chinese community, this important addition reflects VALORANT’s goal of becoming the most global esports tournament in the world. In addition to the new league, Shanghai will host the second Masters of the season, with twelve teams competing for championship points and qualification for the Champions League.
