Warner Bros. Games and Netease Announce Harry Potter: The Magic Awakens

Co-developed and published by Warner Bros. Games and NetEase Games, Harry Potter: The Magic Awakens is the latest game released by Portkey Games, a label dedicated to creating new Magical-inspired mobile and video games that put the player at the center of their own adventure.

Harry Potter: The Magic Awakens is an addictive Massively Multiplayer (MMO) immersive duel magical video game with RPG strategy elements. The action takes place ten years after the Battle of Hogwarts. Players will follow all stages of the student’s journey through the school of magic and embark on an exciting new story with familiar faces from the original saga and new characters.

As they progress, players will learn spells that can be played as cards. Players will need to collect these spells, create unique strategies, and form winning combos – learning what to play and when – as they brave increasingly difficult challenges, battle other players, and master magic in their own illustrious magical journey.

Key features include:

• Experience the life of a Hogwarts student: From customizing your character and getting your wand to the Sorting Hat ceremony and flying around Hogwarts, there is so much to see and do at Hogwarts. As freshmen, players will also be able to attend classes on a rotating schedule including Spells, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Care of Magical Creatures, History of Magic, and Divination, all with their own mini-games, objectives, and rewards.

• Complete your spellbook: With over 70 spells and summons available at launch, each with their own unique effects and benefits, players can create decks with endless combinations of damage, control, support, and defense to use magic in their own way. To further customize playstyles, fans can equip Echoes, which grant special stat, trait, or passive ability boosts, as well as Companion Cards, which can summon powerful allies such as Hermione Granger and Rubeus Hagrid to aid in combat.

• Exciting multiplayer world: Join a social club with other players and participate in special activities such as caring for a dragon egg or participating in boss raids to fight powerful creatures like Thunderbird. Players can also invite a friend to dance in the Dance Club rhythm mini-game, meet other witches and wizards while exploring Diagon Alley, take lessons with peers, and more.

• brand new story: With new and original characters from the Harry Potter series, experience a whole new story in a magical world. Every year at Hogwarts there will be a new arc and new adventures.

• duel club: Players can compete against each other in friendly real-time wizard duels and climb the leaderboard in the battle of wits and magical skill. Choose between 1v1 and 2v2 options, as well as special game modes for a limited time.

• forbidden Forest: Venture into the Forbidden Forest solo or in co-op multiplayer to fight your way through increasingly difficult challenges that offer greater rewards with each victory. Exclusive stories and magical creatures await you, such as centaurs, acromantulas, unicorns and more.
