Honkai Star Rail April 2023 Tier List: Main Characters

Are you looking for a Honkai Star Rail tier list to run? Judging the best Star Rail characters is not easy. After all, the game hasn’t launched properly yet and the balance is likely to be different between recent beta testing and the first public release. Also, its gacha mechanic makes it hard to find the characters you want in your party, except by sheer luck. However, there are already some clear leaders to watch at launch.

The real goal of the Honka Star Rail tier list is to match your attempts with the consensus of the growing free-to-play PC gaming community. Even before Honkai Star Rail’s release date, they had already begun to speculate on who would be the overall main character, who would excel in boss fights, and who would be good at farming materials by crushing enemies. This list is based on the beta version of Honkai Star Rail and is subject to change after the anime game’s release date. We are still waiting for all players to test the game to see if these ratings hold up, but we plan to continually update this list, not just during the launch period, but for each future Honkai Banner.StarRail update.

SS level

All four characters are generally considered to be at the top of the tier list at launch. Jing Yuan and Seele are the best damage dealers in the game. Jing Yuan specializes in multi-target damage through a brutal combination of using the lightning element in her abilities and the scholar path. On the other hand, Seele has a hunting path that deals a lot of single-target damage, making him ideal against elite enemies, especially those weak to Quantum Element. Armor and Tingyun are Harmony characters that support your team in attack, boosting their abilities with Wind and Lightning respectively. Tingyun is particularly notable for being a four-star character, which means she’s easier to get with gacha. Finally, Bailu is the only high-level character that isn’t as good at farming as the rest of her levels, but that’s probably because she’s the best healer in the game.

S-level

Velt is currently the best character at this level, being able to use imaginary element debuffs effective against enemies. He will be a great support, but his abilities also make him a standout character in your party. Sushang is only slightly worse by comparison, but it’s still an effective offensive DPS with physical elements with a hunting path. Arlan is another great character with the Lightning element, and he has a path of destruction that offers high damage and high survivability. Arlan and Sushang are four-star characters, so they are easier to get. In terms of pure defense, Cheetah is the best character in his class in Save Path, and he’s also the best ice elemental character right now. Don’t rely on him for farming, as he’s not very good at it, since his abilities target individual enemies or all allies who don’t have room to maneuver.

A level

Like S-tier characters, the best A-tier characters fall into the offensive support category. Pela is a fantasy ice elemental character who specializes in freezing her enemies and inflicting more debuffs with her path out of nowhere, leaving them vulnerable to attacks from allies. Asta is the main Fire character appearing here right now, and with her Path of Harmony affecting her list of abilities, one notable key ability for her is her ultimate, which increases the speed of your allies, causing them to take action. more frequently.

Pathfinder (Fire) – A Fire-element defender who can protect his allies with defensive abilities while developing Molten Will for increased damage. Yanqing is a DPS specialist who uses ice elemental damage against a single target to deal critical hits. Natasha is a physical healer who can even remove debuffs from allies, which Baylu cannot. March 7 is a weaker ice protector than Cheetah, but can still remove debuffs from allies, while Clara is a versatile physical destruction character who can also reduce the damage she takes from attacks.

B-level

All B-tier characters are a good DPS option, so don’t be discouraged if you get one, as they are fully usable. There’s only one five-star character on the list here, Himeko. From what we can gather, she is a versatile character in the Erudition DPS path with a fire element capable of burning enemies. At this level, she is actually second only to a four-star character, Sampo. She is a wind-based Nikhility character who can induce blind states in enemies with her bombs. Serval and Hook also have decent potential: Hook is great at taking out bosses, and Serval is a great farming character. Finally, Dan Heng, a Wind Element Hunt character who can power up his attacks while avoiding damage with his main Hidden Dragon Trace.

C-level

At the other end of the scale we have Qingque and Trailblazer (physics). While Qingque has a unique combination of Quantum and Erudition, his game is somewhat challenging compared to other versatile DPS characters on the roster due to his tokens. However, the more players understand their gameplay, the better their chances of moving up the ranks. As for Trailblazer (physical), he is currently the lowest rated five-star character. Clara, a four star character, stands out because she does very similar things in the same element and path (Physical and Destruction).

D-level

Poor Herta. He had no luck with his abilities. She should be decent as an ice item that focuses on multi-target damage. However, her main problem with her is that her abilities are conditional. The power of the one-hit deal is increased if the enemy is at half health or less, while the I’ll Take a Swing talent activates when another ally hits the enemy below 50% of their maximum HP. One of her main traces causes her Ultimate to deal more damage to frozen enemies, but she herself can’t freeze them. She must be paired with Cheetah on or before March 7 to have a chance to activate this buff.
