An exotic Destiny 2 livery for the beloved Arbalest linear fusion rifle is coming to Bungie’s hit FPS in Destiny 2 Season 21. As part of Team Bungie’s ongoing This Week at Bungie (TWAB) series, the developers unveiled a decoration called Synthwave, which the community chose 55.5% of the votes in last year’s contest. TWAB also announced a new multi-part community vote where Destiny 2 players vote on which Exotic weapons they would like to see on the new ornament and have the option to vote on multiple skins for this ornament.

The crossbow is a fan-favorite kinetic weapon due to its high damage per second, and is often used by experienced players like Datto in late-game activities. It deals exceptionally high damage against shields and is powerful against barrier champions, and penetrating the shield with weapons also makes enemies more vulnerable to kinetic damage. The community-selected ornament features a neon purple and teal pattern courtesy of artist StellarStateLogic.

Players will be able to get an Eververse decoration, though it’s unclear if it will be available for Bright Dust or if Guardians will have to spend money to buy it. Cash is Destiny 2’s real money equivalent in-game.

Bungie also announced that they will be opening another contest today where players can vote via email on which weapon they would like to see in their next exotic trinket. The Bungie team will then ask an as-yet-unknown community artist to develop a series of concept art for these weapons for players to vote on. The Bungie design team will implement the winning selection as decoration.

Since the launch of this community vote, players can vote for one of three other fan favorite weapons: Burden of Izanagi, Weatherhard, or Thunderlord. However, due to the time it takes to vote on, craft, and deploy weapons, Guardians shouldn’t expect to see weapon baubles until The Final Shape launches in early 2024.

TWAB is also reminding players that the final Iron Banner of Destiny 2 season will begin with the next weekly reset and covers notes and issues from the game’s recent mid-season patch. It also mentions a number of changes for accessibility improvements, such as mesh updates. and fully automatic melee combat, with more details included in a longer blog post published earlier this week.

With Season 21 fast approaching, there’s still plenty of time to grab some Destiny 2 Lightfall multiplayer exotics before Season of Defiance ends.
