After we all thought we had some news about the long-rumored Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, those hopes were dashed again when MGS comedian and singer Donna Burke made it clear that the Metal Gear Solid project 3 Snake Eater he’s working on isn’t a remake of a stealth game, but still something that sounds incredibly exciting.
Burke recently teased that he was doing some sort of re-recording of Snake Eater, the James Bond-esque opening song originally sung by Cynthia Harrell, which understandably sent us all into overdrive. Was this a cheeky prank to fan the flames of the MGS3 remake or something else?
Turns out it was for something else, as Burke writes in the sequel: “Yesterday I recorded Snake Eater. It’s not for a remake. It has nothing to do with MGS3. It’s for entertainment. And I should check my Twitter more.”
This won’t be the first time Metal Gear Solid fans have heard of Burke, as he recorded songs for The Phantom Pain and Peace Walker and even voiced the MGS 5 iDROID, the ’80s prototype iPhone that Snake uses to date. throughout his life. a game.
In fact, Burke is working with Tencent’s lead composer and supervisor, Mason Lieberman, who adds: “Here you go, folks. Either way, you’ll be hearing more about what Donna Burke and I are working on over the next few months. It’s not a MGS project at all, but a special album for video game music lovers. Lots of great guests to announce. Coming soon!”
Lieberman says this musical project is in post-production and not affiliated with Tencent, and will be somewhat similar to his versions of Cowboy Bebop and My Hero Academia, which combine live musical performances with some of the people who helped create the property. for life.

So while this sneak peek wasn’t indicative of a Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, it looks like it’s going to be part of a larger work on iconic video game music covers or something, which seems pretty cool to be honest.
Lieberman has quite a few great anime and video game covers, and they all sound great, so it’s definitely worth checking out afterwards. this precision at least.
