You should be able to unlock Anno 1800 achievements on Steam retroactively, and the update history on SteamDB indicates that the achievements appear to have been added on April 12. There are currently 112 total achievements in the Steam version of Anno 1800, and they range from stocks of certain goods and resources to some additional DLC-related unlocks. So if you need an excuse to go back and watch your Steam achievements skyrocket, now is the time.
Since returning to Steam, Anno 1800 has been free for a week, though unfortunately not on the Valve store, and it even got a big sale on Steam, so it’s definitely not a forgotten management game.
I would not assume that all Ubisoft games ported to Steam will receive achievements as the publisher does not indicate that this is the plan.
