What are the new and returning mobs in Minecraft Legends? Look no further because we have listed all the critters, creatures, and monsters you are likely to encounter in Minecraft Legends. From Piglins invading Overworld to Creepers you forge an alliance with (hey wait what!), there are plenty of familiar faces to fans of the original Minecraft and Minecraft Dungeons.

The story of Minecraft Legends is this: a legend, so it is unknown how true it is and how much it has changed over the years. Some, for example, find it hard to believe that we ever lived in harmony with the skeletons and zombies of the Overworld. Although I like to think it’s true. Believe it or not, as you relive this story leading up to the Minecraft Legends release date, dealing with these mobs will be key to saving the world, so here are all the mobs in Minecraft Legends, hostile or not, that you can find in a strategy game.

Piglins Minecraft Legends

Piglins are enemies in Minecraft Legends that have escaped from the Nether in an attempt to take over the Overworld. However, while pigs are a familiar mob to standard Minecraft players, they’re a little different in Minecraft Legends and there are plenty of options you’ve never seen before.

For now, we know more about piglins and rants. Both are little childish piggies, each with their own weapons and abilities. This weapon is too big for those poor claws, making them unbalanced and almost amusing. It may seem cruel to laugh at their clumsy attacks, but remember, they are the bad guys. Their small size and clumsiness in battle are offset by their numbers, as swarms of these little piglins are the first to emerge from the portal.

There are crowds in Minecraft Legends: Three Minecraft Legends hosts, Action, Foresight, and Knowledge, go through the portal and just behind them is a blue and yellow alley.

Minecraft Legends Hosts

Forsight, Action, and Knowledge, the three main Minecraft Legends, are inspired by the three traits that Mojang Studios and Blackbird Interactive believe Minecraft players should have and be by your side throughout the challenge to prevent Piglins from being captured.

Minecraft Legends Golems

Are these golems completely new to the world of Minecraft, or since Minecraft Legends is set in the past, are they extinct? Either way, each one is made from its own Minecraft block type and has its own use in battle.

cobblestone golem

The Cobblestone Golem is small and slow, but packs a big punch. They might look cute, and like all golems, they were happy to live in peace in the overworld, but being forced to fight proved to them that they were more than they knew.

millstone golem

While Cobblestone golems hit hard with their melee defense, keeping enemies close to the attack, Grindstone golems also pack a powerful punch, but their movement creates distance between them (or you) and the enemy, pushing them away. This is especially useful when you and your army are overwhelmed, or to protect weaker golems and allies from attack.

Mossy Golem

The Mossy Golem is a support unit for your army that has a special healing power. These cute little buckets spray water in a circular motion, healing everyone in their radius, so they’re especially useful when paired with a whetstone golem that can ward off enemies while you repair.

dash golem

The plank golem attacks from a distance, acting as a turret, firing darts at enemies at high speed. As a Woodland Golem, they don’t have much defense, so you’ll have to rely on their projectiles to keep enemies at bay.

Minecraft Legends Mobs - Several zombies stand in the sun, each wearing a farmer's hat to protect themselves from daylight.

minecraft zombie legends

One of the three hostile Minecraft mobs that seemed to be friendly in the distant past of Minecraft Legends are zombies. As their story unfolds, Overworld is a utopia, and it’s clear that all of Overworld’s mobs live together in harmony.

Despite this unexpected twist in the story of Minecraft as we know it, the developers and designers at Blackbird Interactive have tried to stay true to the story. Do you know how zombies light up and die during the day? Do you know how wearing a helmet prevents this? Well, that’s a pretty smart target for those farm hats you can see on every zombie in Minecraft Legends.

Minecraft Legends Mobs - Two skeletons, both wearing helmets, are ready for action in a snowy biome with snowy fir trees behind.

Minecraft Legends Skeletons

The excellent attention to detail seen in the zombie story also applies to the skeletons, their helmets acting as zombie hats to prevent them from burning alive in daylight. Unsurprisingly, skeletons are your allies at a distance, so building an army of bone fighters will help you defend the Overworld from a distance.

minecraft creeper legends

Whether you’re a die-hard Minecraft fan or new to the series, you probably know that Creepers are a terrible mob to avoid, along with the pretty green face of Minecraft. Everything changes in Minecraft Legends, where creepers are your friends, just like zombies and skeletons. The reason vines are so scary these days is that they tend to explode when they’re near you. Vines always explode in Minecraft Legends, but now it’s in your favor as you can use your army of vines to blow up buildings and enemies.

Now that you know all the monsters in Minecraft Legends that will help you on your legendary journey, I hope you’ll join your allies in sending the piglins back to the Nether. You will need additional combat support, so check out which mobs serve as mounts in Minecraft Legends and prepare for the journey ahead by preparing yourself for the duration of Minecraft Legends.
