Although Tekken 8’s release date remains a mystery, the master of all Bandai Namco fighting games, Katsuhiro Harada, has hinted that a Tekken 8 beta could be in the works.
When asked “can we get a beta version of Tekken 8 this weekend”, game director and lead producer Harada replied: “We are still doing closed alpha testing at every event so please wait for the beta version. “.
This confirms two things: First, the game is still in its early stages, which means that a 2024 release date is likely more likely than even the Q4 2023 that has been discussed so far.
Tekken 8 brings the old franchise into the modern age, using Unreal Engine 5 technology to enhance the graphics and make your deadly shots look like a killer. Harada too confirmed that the game will be a cross-platform game, the first in the series and very Very exciting announcement.
And, let’s be honest, we needed that announcement. Tekken 7’s single-player campaign lacked the polish of its predecessors and everything just felt a bit dusty. Tekken 8 is the redemption the franchise needs, and frankly, how good is this those character trailers (I think I fell for Ling Xiaoyu all over again), I think Bandai got it right this time.
