Cyberpunk 2077 RT Overdrive Mode Trailer Lights Up The City At Night

A week before Cyberpunk 2077 Ray Tracing Overdrive arrives on April 11, Nvidia and CD Projekt Red have released new images of the upcoming update. Naturally, it’s packed with fantastic roadmaps, complete with image comparisons and performance metrics.

This graphics brilliance is as big as it is demanding, so it’s no surprise that you need one of the best graphics cards to run it.

We’ve currently only seen images of the Cyberpunk 2077 update running on an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090, with and without DLSS 3. An AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT card against the freshly cobbled streets of Night City.

Watching the trailer, I immediately noticed how features like RTX Direct Illumination and Full Ray Traced Global Illumination change the look and feel of CD Projket Red RPG for the better. While it’s obviously interesting to look at, you can read more about the technology in our GDC interview with Cyberpunk 2077’s art director and Nvidia’s article.

Just be sure to check all performance expectations before turning on the Ray Tracing preset, which will be released on April 11. From the looks of it, Nvidia DLSS 3 will be a must to keep it playable, but you can expect an official announcement from us soon after. launch.
