According to the patch notes released by Bungie earlier today, the drop rate of Lost Sectors in Destiny 2 has increased for solo players on Legendary and Master difficulty. The biggest drop for Destiny 2 Legendary Lost Sector and Master Lost Sector comes after a four-hour hiatus during which Bungie also fixed an in-game FPS bug that was causing some Guardians and their weapons to become invisible in Destiny 2.
The change to Lost Sector drop rates in Destiny 2 comes amid complaints that such actions currently recommend a power level of 1830 for Legendary Lost Sectors and a power level of 1840 for Core Lost Sectors. Relatively, this makes them noticeably more complex than previous iterations. The seasonal power cap is 1850, giving players a maximum advantage of just ten over their enemies on Master difficulty. As a result, some players say they’re not worth it because they offer minimal rewards and only a small chance to get exotic gear.
For those unfamiliar with how Legendary Lost Sectors work, this is an opportunity for players to potentially get exotic armor pieces they don’t already have, or higher stat versions of armor pieces they do have. The game’s Legendary and Lost Master sectors rotate daily with the game’s daily reset, and armor rewards alternate between Head, Arms, Chest, Legs, and Exotic class.
However, with the introduction of Lightfall, players have suggested that the increased difficulty of Lost Sectors doesn’t guarantee meager rewards and low chances of getting Exotics.
It seems that Bungie’s decision to increase the drop chance was a response to this criticism. This is all due to Destiny 2 Lightfall’s difficulty issues. While the Vanguard Ops playlist activities and Neomun Patrols feature increased difficulty compared to their comparable predecessors, activities like Destiny 2 Root of Nightmares Competitive Mode Raid seem much easier.
Fortunately, the changes in the drop rate indicate that Bungie is at least listening to player feedback on things like more difficult action rewards. However, since Bungie hasn’t revealed how much the drop rate has increased, it’s unlikely that players will know if Lost Sectors are worth their time without a lot of trial and error.
And while exotics in the Lost Sector can still be hard to find, there are still plenty of exotics on the Destiny 2 Lightfall exotics list to look for, like the Destiny 2 Vexcalibur Exotic Glaive or the Destiny 2 Final Warning Exotic Strand Pistol. , which some of the best multiplayer gamers call one of the best weapons in the game.
