Many Genshin Impact players are not happy with the outcome of the new five-star character Dehya, and have taken to Twitter to express their discontent. The community is using the hashtag #FixDehya to share their favorite buffs, along with clips and images showing the character’s current uselessness. That may sound extreme, but in his defense, Dehya is considered the worst five-star character in an anime game to date, and for good reason.
It’s definitely a bit perplexing how HoYoverse has managed to fumble for the release of one of Sumeru’s most beloved characters. One of Dehya’s trailers even inspired players to donate thousands of dollars to a children’s charity in China. But for now, it forces players to use the power of her actions and game design for her.
In terms of gameplay, one of the main issues is that Daehya is a tank in a game where near-invincible shields like Junli already exist alongside metachange healers like Kokomi and Bennett. Typically, teams want to use a single character slot for a healer or guardian to increase survivability.
As it stands, if you choose to control Dehya, you’ll likely also need a healer to keep her alive through tough fights. She can only mitigate a certain amount of team damage and her self-heal has a 20 second cooldown, which is too much if she wants to keep tanking. Spending two gear slots on survivability will eat up her team’s DPS potential, which Dehya doesn’t help either.
The players shared the following image where they could with #RepairDehya hashtag to make your voice heard.
It’s unclear if HoYoverse will come away with at least one buff from Dehya, but players are still intent on making their voices heard.
If you’re one of the fans determined to fight for her no matter what, you can still do so in the first half of Genshin Impact version 3.5 until Ayaka and Shenhe arrive in the second half.
