The Last of Us PC is coming to Steam in a few weeks, and AMD is giving away a PlayStation port with select graphics cards for free. Sure, you can go on an apocalyptic action adventure absolutely free with a Radeon RX 7900 XT, XTX, or one of the many RX 6000 GPUs, but we don’t know for how long.
The Last of Us release date for PC was originally scheduled a few days ago, but the delay means it will now release on March 28. Naughty Dog says they’re working on making the port suitable for the best PC build for gaming, so hopefully we won’t run into any optimization issues when it lands. However, the post also gives companies like AMD the opportunity to install some great packages, and the latest article from the red team is a winner if you’re in the market for a shiny new GPU.
Spotted by Videocardz, Ebuyer’s promo page for The Last of Us PC AMD goes into great detail and provides a list of eligible GPUs. Even though the Radeon RX 7900 XT is included in the box, you don’t need to buy the component manufacturer’s best graphics card to get a copy, as even the ultra-budget AMD Radeon RX 6400 is included in the deal.
Of course, we’re still waiting on the system requirements for The Last of Us PC, so it remains to be seen if the game will work well with all eligible AMD GPUs. The page also omitted some details about the bundle, such as its duration and whether the free key will work on Steam or the Epic Game Store.
Of course, this isn’t AMD’s first free roundup, as a similar offer a few months ago included Callisto Protocol and Dead Island 2 with 6000-series cards. If the offer makes sense, it’s available at several retailers, but we’ll have to wait for the official terms.
Thinking of buying an RDNA 3 graphics card? Our AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT review takes a slightly cheaper variant of the next-gen Team Red.
