Valorant’s new Agent Gekko uses adorable slimy friends to take down his enemies

Hailing from the sunny streets of Los Angeles, Valorant’s newest agent Gekko is a creator similar to local FPS game ecologist Skye, but instead of animal totems, he uses small slimy creatures called “friends” to break through enemy lines. and cause absolute chaos.

Dancing on Valorant’s roster of characters to up-and-coming rapper Ericdoa, Gekko stands out from the crowd with his neon green hair, brown checkered pants, and most importantly, his four adorable little critters.

Dizzy, Mosh, Thrash, and Wingman have their own unique abilities and play key roles in Gekko’s outfit. Writer Joe Keelin notes that the so-called friends are “characters in their own right,” while lead game director John Goskiski says their mere existence has made Gekko’s development challenging, as “trying to create four super different creatures will make you fall in love”. with”. , but keeping them within certain game limits is… difficult.

In any case, Riot has achieved its goals with Gekko, because his flying friends are just adorable. They vaguely remind me of all the slimes in Slime Rancher 2, and if the devs don’t decide to make them fillers, I’ll start a riot (haha, fun pun).

Valorous Gekko Abilities

As I mentioned earlier, the adorable little Gekko creatures fit into different parts of your kit. Here are all of Gekko’s abilities in Valorant:

  • stunned (E) – Equip Dizzy. Shoot to make Dizzy fly. Dizzy attacks, then fires plasma bolts at enemies in line of sight. Enemies hit by his plasma are blinded. When Dizzy dies, he turns back into a dormant balloon. He interacts to return the globule for another dizzy charge after a short cooldown.
  • Extreme (Q) – Equip the Wingman. Fire to send Wingman searching for enemies. Wingman deals a crushing blow to the first enemy he sees. Alternate fire mode when targeting a spike location or a spike location for the wingman to disarm or plant the spike. To plant, a Gekko must have a Spike in its inventory. When Wingman dies, he reverts to an inactive balloon. Interact to collect the Globule and get another Wingman Charge after a short cooldown.
  • Mosh’s Well (C) – Equip Mosh. Shoot to launch Mosh like a grenade. Alternate shot to launch from below. Upon landing, Mosh duplicates himself in a large area, then explodes after a short delay.
  • Beat (X) – Team Thrash. Shoot to connect with the spirit of Thrash and lead him through enemy territory. Activate to dash forward and explode, knocking back all enemies within a small radius. When Thrash expires, it reverts to an inactive goop. Interact to collect the Globule and get another charge of Thrash after a short cooldown. Thrash can be returned once.

A small stone creature with glowing yellow eyes and amber crystals protruding from its neck hovers, leaving behind a trail of purple fire that leads to the concentrating man.

I’m kind of obsessed with all of Gekko’s abilities just because they’re so cute, but his Wingman (Q) looks incredibly powerful. Having a creature that plants or disables a spike as you play it and clear the area is a huge plus and I can immediately see that it is very powerful in both low level and competitive play.

Valorant’s new agent, Gekko, will release Episode 6, Act 2 on March 7. and it seems like the perfect choice to help you climb the Valorant ladder. Character selection is only one piece of the puzzle though, as you’ll need one of the best ranks in Valorant to help you hit your shot.
