The gameplay of the new Sims 4 expansion shows us that growing up together doesn’t always mean growing up in harmony. The Sims 4 Growing Together expansion launches in March and focuses on family relationships in the game of life. As the new trailer reveals, that means more options for how your Sims interact and how they bond (or break) with others.

As many people know, families are not always the colorful center of love and support that they should be. While many of us are lucky to be close to family members, unfortunately it’s not for everyone. Relationships become strained, ideologies clash, people drift apart – the bonds between family members can often be some of the toughest and toughest of all for a variety of reasons.

The Sims 4 Grow Together seems to better reflect this reality by adjusting the relationship dynamics between family members to give a better idea of the different ways a family behaves. As seen in the “Growing Together” gameplay trailer below, you can choose from several different “family dynamics” to represent the relationships between individual Sims in a family setting.

In the trailer we see four possible options. “Near” and “Far” seem to be the simplest, representing a family that spends a lot of time together or has been separated. Complex lets you capture a more antagonistic relationship, while Pranksters is a good fit for a classic sibling prank where you tease and tease in a more loving and fun way.

EA Maxis says that this system will go beyond simply choosing a menu and will require you to make key decisions that can affect your Sims’ relationships. “For example, will they allow their parents to move in with them? If you say no, this relationship will suffer, and if you say yes, life at home will become much more difficult. You will also have to deal with the possible consequences. “What do you do if your Sim’s parents don’t get along with their partner?” »

“New relationships also become more dynamic,” EA continues, explaining that these ideas extend to new systems of social chemistry by making friends (or enemies). “For you, the choice may be to keep the peace or cause drama.” It’s definitely another step up in social simulation games with plenty of options to tell your own set of stories.

Sims 4 Grow Together Expansion Launches March 16 on Steam and the EA Store, as well as PlayStation and Xbox consoles. By pre-ordering or purchasing the expansion before April 27, you’ll also receive the Outdoor Playtime digital content pack when it launches.
