Does Sons of the Forest offer character creation?? That’s a fair question, as its predecessor The Forest lacked character creation options and minimal character customization. In a first-person game, you still can’t see your character’s face, but what if you’re playing a multiplayer game? What if you wanted to play a female character? These are the options that players have requested in The Forest 2.
Most new survival games start with a character creation screen, which allows you to customize your character’s appearance to your liking, whether it looks like you or something more suited to who you want to be. In an age of increasing diversity and inclusion, it’s still surprising that games don’t offer this option, or at least the choice of protagonist. Since there are no custom characters in single player in The Forest, just random default characters assigned to each person in multiplayer, you’re probably wondering if character creation from Sons of the Forest will be in the game.
Children of the Forest character customization
Until the release of Sons of the Forest, we can’t confirm if the horror game will feature character customization, but so far none of the trailers for the game have mentioned it. Therefore, at the time of writing, it appears that there is no character customization in Sons of the Forest.
In The Forest, you play as Eric Leblanc. You can’t choose a female protagonist, and the only way to customize Eric’s appearance is through outfits that you can collect or create. As for The Forest’s multiplayer mode, when In fact You can see the full character model of your friends, there are various characters. However, you will be randomly assigned one of them when you join the lobby, while the host of the game will automatically play as Eric, so there is no freedom of choice. Again, this distribution system resembles that of Sons of the Forest, but we’ll update this guide as soon as we know for sure.
