Nvidia GeForce Now supports Call of Duty and Xbox games on PC

After removing its games from the service in 2020, Microsoft partnered with Nvidia for a decade to bring its games to Nvidia GeForce Now. This includes all Xbox PCs like Halo and Minecraft, as well as Bethesda favorites like the Elder Scrolls and Fallout series. Most notable, however, is the inclusion of the Activision Blizzard catalogue, including the Call of Duty franchise.

Speaking at a press conference, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer said, “This partnership will help expand Nvidia’s game catalog to include games like Call of Duty, while giving developers more options for streaming. of games”. While that is true, there is another reason for this deal.

Microsoft’s partnership with Nvidia, which comes just days after the company announced a similar commitment to bring Call of Duty games to Nintendo platforms, is also aimed at convincing the European Union to approve the acquisition of Blizzard by Activision. Sony is currently pushing for the acquisition despite being offered a similar deal.

It will be a while before we see Xbox games for PC or Call of Duty on Nvidia’s GeForce Now service, but work has begun to bring them into the service. Oddly enough, there’s no mention of Xbox Game Pass support, but platform VP Phil Eisler has been unable to confirm or deny any support plans in an interview with The Verge. So let’s cross our fingers there.

Whether a deal is reached or not, we look forward to playing the best PC games on the next level of the RTX 4080 platform, whether they be classics or new releases. If you’re not sure if cloud streaming is right for you, check out our Nvidia GeForce Now review to better understand the service.
