If you’re a fan of Batman games and all things nightlife, then Steam’s latest offering is for you. To celebrate the birthday of enigmatic billionaire-turned-crimefighter Bruce Wayne, Valve’s eShop has slashed prices on the iconic Arkham games, as well as newcomers Gotham Knights.
First of all, these are, of course, the Arkham games; the games that defined my childhood and in many ways inspired my current career. You can buy the full set at 85% off, including Arkham Asylum, City and Origins at 75% off, and the Knight at 80% off. Flight? Absolutely, but maybe you won’t tell Batman.
Next up is Injustice 2, which is 90% off and available for a measly $4.99 / £3.99. The Legendary Edition with all the characters is on sale for 85% off (that’s $8.99 / £7.45) and the Ultimate Gods Among Us Edition, even more characters with a 75% discount. Several different DLC packs were also cut.
In the same vein of action-adventure, Warner Bros. Montreal Gotham Knights is on sale for 55% off, making the base game $26.99/£22.49 and the Deluxe Edition $35.99/£ 31.49. The Visionary Pack is also half off at $12.49 / £9.99 and offers a range of cosmetic items to give the Bat family a makeover.
Finally (yes, that’s not all) we have the cult classic Lego Batman games that are perfect for introducing kids to the dark world of DC’s fan-favorite Avenger. You can get all three games for just $4.99 / £2.99 plus a variety of DLC packs.
There is a lot I love this sale, but the Arkham games are an absolute steal in my opinion. Bold, precise, and utterly gorgeous, these are the “bucket list” games I encourage you to try.
Of a more modern contingent, however, Gotham Knights still appeals to me, mainly because it looks so good graphically. If, like me, Gotham Knights’ review ratings are a bit off for you, now might be the time to give it a try.
The Steam Batman sale ends on February 20., so you only have a few days to get hold of these authentic jewels. As for Marvel (I know I said a scary word), the 2K strategy game Midnight Suns is free this weekend, and given our rave review of Midnight Suns, it might be worth checking out.
Plus, we’ve got a list of the best superhero games that will take you to another magical world, along with our adventure game recommendations for all things exciting.
