Update 22.1 is now live on PC for PUBG Battlegrounds and there are some new cheats in the original battle royale game – bears. Yes, PUBG now has actual polar bears, and you can find them guarding loot caches in the snowy reaches of Vikendi. If coming face to face with bears seems too much OutdoorYou’re in luck: Update 22.1 also brings the Deston City map back into rotation.
Unlike bears you may have seen on TV, Vikendi bears aren’t very cute and don’t shoot magical beams of healing goodness from their furry chests. These bears want to eat you. They will attack if you get close to them, and there are warning signs posted around the edges of bear territory. They can be killed, but bear kill and damage stats will not be included in their stats.
Update 22.1 also heralds the return of Moonlight mode to Vikendi, which is a beautiful ribbon of crackling Northern Lights in a clear night sky after a recent hotfix. This is the perfect place to be eaten by polar bears. Fortunately, you’ll also be able to find a 4x thermal scope to help you identify targets at night or during a snow storm.
Deston returns to the normal Ranked Play rotation in Patch 22.1, bringing the ruined coastal city back into the game. The map was released last July, and like most PUBG maps, it has its own gear and mechanics to use.
