The Destiny 2 Season 19 finale kicked off today, creating an emotional twist on a story that brought together cues dating back to the original Destiny, culminating in one of the most memorable quests in gaming history. brings together the stories of Humanity, the Eliksni and the Awoken in a fight against time to face a force led by Eramis, leader of the Eliksni, who seeks revenge on the Traveler for abandoning his people when he needed it. Exactly that. Eramis is also the main villain of Destiny 2 Beyond Light and now works alongside the Witness, a multifaceted creature that players first saw in The Witch Queen campaign finale of the popular FPS game.
This season, players have seen Ana Bray access the mind of her grandfather, Clovis Bray, to help restore Rasputin, the Warmind AI. By the end of the season, it becomes clear that Rasputin may be humanity’s only hope of saving it from the threats of Eramis, Xivu Ararth, and the Witness. However, things do not go as expected.
Final Dawn is one of the biggest twists in the history of the Destiny 2 franchise. Additionally, the main quest quest “Abominable Imperative” is only available on Legend difficulty with a power cap of 1350. The result is challenging and satisfying, which is a strong precursor to what players can expect from Lightfall within the difficulty settings set by Destiny 2 Game Director Joe Blackburn. .
The quest line also gives insight into how the Guardian will learn about the city of Neomun, which will debut in Lightfall, and various other elements as to why the Neptunian city could be important to the Guardians and the upcoming Destiny 2 Strand subclass.
The emotional finale closes the door on one of the best expansions in Destiny 2 history, rivaling other fan-favorite DLC like Forsaken and The Taken King from the original Destiny. The quest also establishes the abilities of Lightfall, which Bungie intends to be the penultimate expansion for the game, and should answer longstanding questions about The Witness’s relationship with Guardians and Light and Darkness. Those who want to play the quest need to purchase the Witch Queen expansion and the Season Pass for Season 19 called Season of the Seraphim. Players must also catch up on all the story missions which will unlock the final mission. Those who complete the quest will receive a special ship and an Ascension Shard.
