Fans of budget gaming PCs are still waiting for desktop models of Nvidia RTX 4060 graphics cards, but it’s likely a GPU disguised as a laptop. New leaks suggest that the entry-level variant uses Ada Lovelace’s smaller chip, rather than a more powerful version with upgraded specs.
In general, the best options for PC graphics cards are different from their gaming laptop counterparts. For example, the recently released RTX 4090 mobile chip is just as fast as the desktop RTX 4070 Ti (a bit of a tricky naming convention, but technically impressive nonetheless). However, it seems that the upcoming AD107 GPU will offer the same performance for laptops and desktops, since the former does not seem to be reduced.
Latest inside information courtesy of save 7kimi reveals potential features of the RTX 4060, including GPU features. The GeForce card is said to use the AD107-400-A1 with 3072 CUDA cores, just like Nvidia’s best gaming laptops. Additionally, the graphics card appears to have a 128-bit memory bus and 8GB of GDDR6 RAM, which means it also shares similarities with the rumored RTX 4060 Ti.
We’re still waiting for an official release date for the RTX 4060, and the same goes for the 4060 Ti and RTX 4070, so we’d recommend taking any spec rumors with the usual dose of skepticism, as Nvidia likes to switch from plan. . at the last second.
