343 Industries reports a mid-February update to Halo Infinite that includes grenade nerfs, reduced energy generation for ranked arena, and a direct response to the “weapon drop meta” used by competitive players looking to climb the ranks of Halo Infinite. There are also some nice buffs for the S7 Sniper and a number of bug fixes for the FPS game.

The head of the Halo Infinite community, John “Unyszek” Yunishek, shares the details to come with the prochain patch Halo Infinite, well qu’il affirm that the players cannot attend to the complete patch notes lors du déploiement de la mise à day. He explains, “The updates to this patch are a direct result of player feedback online and community issue reports on the Halo support site.”

Weapon racks in the Ranked Arena are in the spotlight as 343 responds to comments that there is “too much power” on the Ranked Arena map due to the high spawn rate and large amount of ammo for many weapons. As such, weapon shelves will now only drop one weapon at a time, going into a “red shelf” state once the weapon is picked up and staying in that state until the original weapon despawns.

Adds Junishek: “As for the ammo reductions for weapons in ranked play, players should expect to see them coming for the Heatwave, Stalker Rifle, CQS48 Bulldog, and Shock Rifle in conjunction with the launch of Season 3.” We hope these changes shake things up a bit for Halo Infinite’s best multiplayer weapon by reducing the impact of grabbing it on the time you can compete against it.

The nerf to Halo Infinite’s frag grenades comes in the form of a reduction in their overall damage radius, which Juniszek says “should reward skillful placement of frag grenades, as well as address concerns about the effectiveness of grenade spam on the game”.

There is also a direct response to the “cast weapon meta” where players cast their weapon instead of switching to a secondary weapon due to faster cooldowns. “Pretty much all the best players have done this,” Yuniszek explains, “so we made sure the weapon reload time after throwing matches the weapon switch speed in normal mode.”

Finally, there are some pretty big changes to improve the S7 Sniper’s no-aim angle of error, which means it will be more accurate when firing from the hip. Junishek notes that the current properties “have been consistent with previous Halo games, but we’ve seen requests to make them even more accurate when firing from the hip.” Good news for all the stunt lovers.

This Halo Infinite update will be released on February 15., with full patch notes expected at the time. Also included are client and server stability improvements, as well as reduced jamming from semi-automatic weapons and fixes for a visual issue that made them appear to be fired twice.

A recent update introduced the reduction of Halo Reach Spartans to Infinite, while 343 Industries promises that plans for Halo Infinite Forge have not changed despite recent Microsoft layoffs affecting the studio.
