According to Wowhead, the WoW 10.0.7 PTR release includes a new social setting, as well as the existing all-or-nothing “mature language filter.” This new option is called “censorship messages” and includes an option that allows you to apply it to everyone, all players except your friends, everyone except your friends and guildmates, or none.
While there are currently no additional customization tools, as seen in the image above (via Wowhead), it appears that posts flagged as inappropriate will be hidden, allowing you to choose whether or not to see them. . It’s kind of a temporary fix, but I’ll take what I can get. The ability to minimize spam of potentially problematic messages is a welcome change in the right direction. Hopefully, we’ll see some additional steps Blizzard takes to try to clean up their community and keep the conversation going as they look to win back fans once Dragonflight launches.
