EA today announced that in order to provide the best possible experience for fans and players during the upcoming FGS 23 playoffs and ongoing tournaments with over 30 league partners, the difficult decision has been made to cancel the Midseason Major.
This cancellation of the FGS 23 Mid-Season Major will not affect other scheduled events and scheduled tournaments: eChampions League, CONMEBOL eLibertadores, eLaLiga Santander, ePremier League, Virtual Bundesliga and the remaining competitions prior to the FGS 23 playoffs at The Towards the World Cup 2023.
The originally planned $500,000 Mid-Season Major prize pool will be added to the FGS 23 competition as follows:
Playoffs FGS23
Additional $120,000 for a total of $420,000.
Qualifiers
An additional $280,000 for a total of $721,000 across all qualifiers.
Rating FGS23
Additional $100,000 for top players.
After the completion of the second qualifying round of the FGS23 online tournament, 20 players who qualified for the Mid-Season Major will each receive $100,000:
Top 8 from Europe
First 2 from North America
First 2 from the Middle East
Top 2 from South Latin America
Top 2 from North Latin America
Top 1 from Africa
Top 1 from South Asia
Top 1 from North Asia
First 1 from Oceania
