Things have been a bit quiet on the Total War Warhammer 3 front of late, shortly after the last update to Immortal Empires. However, the fantasy strategy game’s director has released an update to allay player fears that development has stalled: Total Warhammer players have three content updates planned for this year, with the first to be released in April.
In a video posted (but uncredited) on the official YouTube channel, Total War: Warhammer 3 game director Rich Aldridge explains that one of the reasons updates have been slow lately is the time change from work after the release of Warhammer 3. He explains that at launch, the team focused their efforts on Immortal Empires, which was released a few months later.
More developers on the team working on Immortal Empires and fixing the base game meant fewer developers were able to work on post-launch DLC and content updates.
“That’s where we’ve been focusing all of our efforts over the last year: making sure we have a great foundation for Immortal Empires, as well as fixing Warhammer 3 and getting it to the state where we need to add new content. Aldridge says.
Now it looks like the Total Warhammer team is moving forward with additional content. Aldridge says that the finishing touches are currently being made on the next DLC, which will be available in April. After that, players can look forward to two more “new experiences” outlined in the 2023 schedule for summer and winter.
These will be interspersed with bug fixes and quality of life improvements in response to community feedback, he said.
“I would go so far as to suggest that some of them will hopefully be on your wanted list,” Aldridge says. “But I think there will be some good surprises as well.”
