Fntastic, developer of upcoming Steam survival game and zombie shooter The Day Before, has released an unusual statement about “misinformation” and “lack of fact checking.” very similar to the videos for Call of Duty and The Last of Us, and the release date for The Day Before has been pushed back.
On February 2, Fntastic released a ten-minute gameplay trailer for The Day Before, showing off weapon customization and item loot. As previously reported, viewers were quick to notice the similarities between the videos and trailers for Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War zombie mode and Sony’s shooter The Last of Us.
The trailer follows Fntastic’s announcement that The Day Before will be delayed from March to November due to The Day Before title being copyrighted by someone outside of the company. Previously one of the most popular games on Steam, The Day Before was pulled from the Valve store and has yet to return to this day. Now, Fntastic is sharing a bizarre statement warning about the risks of “misinformation.”
“We all live in a time of misinformation and lack of fact checking,” says the developer. “Anyone can say anything for the views, and everyone will believe it. Misinformation must be combated because it can harm not only us, but also other independent and small/medium-sized studies. It also has a psychological impact on the members of these teams. After the release of The Day Before, we will think about how to help novice developers to combat counterfeiting and allocate resources for this.
“It is easy to destroy. It’s hard to create, fantastic concludes.
In a separate tweet from the developer. talk that “cases of some people writing on our behalf to streamers about cooperation have become more frequent. We never wrote to anyone.” Fntastic also states that it is “restoring the Steam page” and “I hope[s] it goes fast”.
