Also broadcaster LCS, Gabby “LeTigress” DurdenTwit Longer apologized for the monologue that aired on the LCS on Saturday night before the match between 100 thieves and TSM. This message was posted on the official LeTigress Twitter account:
“After seeing the reaction to the DL/TSM monologue, it became clear that I had to say something. Let’s start with the most important thing: to everyone in TSM who was offended, annoyed, or in any way annoyed by the monologue, I am truly sorry. Know that this was not the intention. I have a lot of respect for the people at TSM who go the extra mile to move this organization forward and I never intended to communicate otherwise.
This article was intended to highlight the history between DL and his former team before their first meeting in the LCS. After someone suggested a topic and the team suggested that a monologue would be an appropriate structure, I agreed to work on the piece with our production team. The work went through several iterations, and the result was what you saw on the air. Obviously we missed.
The reaction is understandable and disgusting at the same time. I understand that the article is polarizing and that there are people who have been affected by my involvement. You have the right to express your opinion and I appreciate those who do so with respect. I am reflecting on this point to understand how to approach content in the future.
I am also still horrified by the harassment and criticism from anonymous trolls for just doing my job. Please remember that I am a human being and not the object of your hatred and anger for a mistake.
Thank you for taking the time to read this article. My goal is always to learn, improve and improve as a broadcaster in order to best convey the stories we all hold so dear.”
