PC Building Simulator 2 saves me from spending money I don’t have

You know what’s the worst thing about shiny new PC components? They cost a lot of money. I know why they’re worth what they do, but for those who built their first system in 2017, time hasn’t been kind to my machine. Over the years I changed motherboards, CPUs, RAM and got the best graphics card possible at the time.

Of course, that’s all part of the fun, but when it becomes clear that Nvidia has an RTX 4070 release date and AMD is undoubtedly planning something new that will change the way we look at computers, I can’t help it. I shed an extra salty tear for my hard earned money. Would anyone think of a computer hole in my bank account?

If you’ve built your own PC, you know that nothing will satisfy your building urges except buying even more Legos to put in your machine. Over the years, I’ve tried to satisfy that itch by building my partner’s first system using parts I found on Facebook Marketplace and a VR setup for our living room. I then taught my son-in-law how to build it using the same five minute instructional video that I used all those years ago. Heck, I even taught my best friend how to put it together in the smallest enclosure I’ve ever seen on Zoom.

That feeling of watching a computer come to life is dangerously addictive, and when you haven’t built anything in over a year, you start looking for it in every possible way. I started looking at auctions on eBay and trading with my neighbors in Gumtree, but nothing worked. That is, until I came across PC Building Simulator 2.

As it turns out, PC Building Simulator 2 is a complete game changer. I now have the income available to buy old computers, figure out what’s wrong with them, and sell them for a profit through my own virtual business, Press Any Key Repairs. This means that I no longer want to buy that skinny old computer I saw on the Facebook marketplace, because I can do it in the virtual world without any cost or risk.

In my life, I have bought countless computers and sold them for a profit. Some had broken components, some had burnt power supplies, and some had viruses, but I managed to fix them all. My confidence in my ability to diagnose and repair these machines has a lot to do with the lessons I learned playing this game.

Although PC Building Simulator 2 is just a game, it is also very educational. When I dove into the world of PC building many years ago, I did so with a beginner’s spec. I knew what components I needed to buy and why, but without the video I didn’t know where to put them or what cables to connect. Developer Spiral House will teach you this, and more, through clickable missions in the early days of your company’s career mode. Then, as your confidence grows, your skills will increase too, and you’ll know which parts to replace without having to check the compatibility tool.

And best of all, with fully licensed parts, you can build your real PC in the virtual world with Free Build and even test drive it without spending a dime. While it is a dangerous game in itself as it basically forces you to spend money on upgrades, it is an amazing learning tool that other video games don’t have.

It taught me all about water cooling and closed loops from the comfort of my own chair, and while it didn’t give me enough confidence to take the plunge and ditch my trusty AIO, I learned a lot more from PC Building Simulator 2 than I did. . put these things together in the real world.

And that in itself is wonderfully crazy. With Press Any Key Repairs, I can dare to dream of the craziest PC built by my (virtual) hands without spending a dime. And if that’s what it takes to satisfy my PC building itch, then so be it; let PC Building Simulator 2 run through my veins.
