This recent Genshin Impact leak features a completely unexpected Pac-Man-inspired event that will occur in the anime game’s next update. Genshin Impact version 3.5 will open the upcoming Windblume festival, so you could be a part of that event. HoYoverse has been inspired by other action games of the past, but Pac-Man is the kind of game that no one expected.
HoYoverse clearly loves trying different playstyles for their RPG events, and the latest game updates are a perfect example of this. Genshin Impact version 3.2 introduced the Fabulous Fungus Frenzy monster taming event, which players compared to Pokémon, while Genshin Impact version 3.3 introduced the Akitsu Kimodameshi event, which gave new impetus to Atari’s block-breaker Breakout.
The leak contains images of various interiors in Mondstadt, all arranged in a way that resembles PacMan. Small balloons line the lanes with large balloons interspersed with them, just like the energy balls are arranged in the classic Bandai Namco arcade game.
We can also see different medium-sized balloons that could be Genshin’s version of the Pac-Man fruit. There are even portals in the walls that will likely spit you out across the room. The leak only contains six screenshots, but the sixth shows six maps, possibly indicating the total number of stages we need to play.
The screenshots are provided by a leaker called Genshin Yuban and you can check them out for yourself in this Reddit thread. These leaks often come from players participating in closed beta tests, and we likely won’t see more details about this event until 3.5 is released.
We’re still in the first half of Genshin Impact 3.4, celebrating the Chinese Lunar New Year with this year’s Lantern Rite event. There is still about a month to go before we see any official news on version 3.5, especially since HoYoverse is closed due to the Lunar New Year holiday.
