Imagine Scenes: Valorant Team Deathmatch. There’s something pretty exciting about that, right? Well, take heart because Riot “accidentally” announced an upcoming mode for an FPS game that hopes to bring an inventive new twist to the Call of Duty format that has become so popular.
For those not in the know, Team Deathmatch is just deathmatch. Players will be rewarded for taking out members of the enemy team, earning points as they go. The player with the most points wins, or on the contrary, if you are a head banging machine, you win when you reach the maximum points offered.
Although Valorant has a dedicated Deathmatch mode, it’s mostly used to hone your weapon skills or try out new tricks and lineups. It is a completely single player mode, and so far it is the only standalone team mode in the game.
In 2023, Riot is looking to innovate on this, with development team lead and executive producer Anna “SuperCakes” Donlon hinting that something in the style of a team deathmatch but with the signature Valorant twist is coming soon.
“So we’ll see each other again soon, maybe playing a new agent or a new map; at the Prime Minister or at a live event,” she said. “Maybe I’ll try one of those new modes Andy talked about, like Swiftplay, or the one I really like, our version of a team deathmatch.”
