The preliminary phase of the Airthings Masters starts on February 3rd and is open to all Grandmasters. Starting February 13, Chess.com will host weekly qualifiers open to all titled players.
The 56-player single-elimination phase of the tournament will run from February 6-10. The winners of the play-in stage will be divided into three divisions, and the winner of the first division will receive $30,000.

The updated Champions Chess Tour 2023 follows Chess.com’s acquisition of the Play Magnus Group. The tour includes six tournaments with playoffs leading up to an eight-player final tournament in December. Two-time reigning champion and world number one Magnus Carlson will defend his title at the event. Take on other high-profile chess players such as rival GM Hikaru Nakamura, known to the Twitch community as “GMHikaru”, and 2022 Chess.com World Championship winner Wesley So.

Chess.com remains the largest chess platform in the world and has partnered globally with brands such as Meltwater, PUMA, Airthings and Mastercard to run its tournaments. Norwegian air quality company Airthings will continue the collaboration until 2023.
