Apex Legends engine bug causes Respawn to replace Olympus

There will be no battle royale games on Olympus tonight as Respawn is investigating a bug in the Apex Legends engine that causes players to display messages while on the map. Respawn says that he has updated the current playlist by removing Olympus and replacing World’s Edge while the developers investigate the source of the problem.

The popup started appearing recently, with players reporting that it usually appears in the middle of matches. It says “Engine error: UI images have run out.” The game then crashed.

Respawn quickly took steps to resolve the issue. After discovering the issue on the night of January 18, the Apex Legends team attempted to remove Olympus from all active playlists within 24 hours.

“This will allow us to continue working on the issue without affecting gameplay,” Respawn said in a later statement.

Olympus will return, but we don’t know when. Check out our Apex Legends character guide to see who you want to take to the end of the world.
