Pedro Schmidt, President of Vivo Keyd Stars, commented on the importance of the modality and all the efforts the organization has made to be present in the game: “DOTA2 is a classic game that is capturing a huge fanbase and one of the first to feature massive official competitions with prizes similar to regular sports tournaments. Although this game does not appear on the covers in Brazil, it is a classic and needs organizations committed to the ecosystem to ignite the flames of these competitions across the country. Our entry will certainly bring a new impact, a new way to promote the game and the community as a whole. We will do our best to conquer not only Brazil, but the world with our DOTA2 performances.”

DOTA2 is divided into five positions, where each player fulfills their role with their own champion. Carry usually looks weaker in the early game and will improve as the team’s main carry as the match progresses. Middle is a player who works in the mid and usually endures the match with spawns in other lanes and maintaining control of a large part of the map, as he is more versatile. A hardliner (from hard lane – a difficult line) is an intermediate step between supports and key positions, as well as one of the most difficult and responsible roles. As for supports in the game, they are divided into 2 types: supports 4 and 5. Their main task is to provide comfortable conditions for players in other positions. Unlike League of Legends, DOTA2 does not have a hunter lane, it is used less often and in matches that are suitable for such a role.
With the release of DOTA2, this will be the sixth competitive modality that the organization will introduce in 2023. The debut date of the new roster is scheduled for 01.10 against Beastcoast during Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) SA. 2023 Tour 1.
