Asrock adds monitors to its gaming monitors

Asrock isn’t the first brand you think of when it comes to gaming monitors, but if your screen doesn’t have enough screens, they have the solution. The new Asrock Phantom range debuted at CES 2023 and its flagship has a 1.3-inch Mini OLED display built into the kickstand with an ultra-wide panel.

Unfortunately, only the GIFs and logos you place on the small screen will benefit from the colors that only OLED can boast, as the still-intuitively-named PG34WQ15R3A’s main display is a VA panel. As a 34-inch ultrawide monitor with 1440p, 165Hz refresh rate, 1500R curve, and DisplayHDR 400, it’s already up against stiff competition from the best gaming monitor, so I can’t fault Asrock for trying to stand out from the crowd. the crowd.

There’s obviously a market for it, given that it’s following in the footsteps of armored gaming keyboards like the Asus ROG Azoth that was also announced at the event, the best AIO coolers, and even the SteelSeries Rival 710 gaming mouse. now an unknown price as to whether you think the small screen is worth it. For the rest, there is a PG34WQ15R2B model with all the same features, but without a screen, which will undoubtedly lower the cost.

As a more practical step towards innovation, several models in the Asrock Phantom range also include built-in WiFi antennas that connect directly to your gaming PC. They are included in four of the six gaming monitors in the range and are compatible with everything from WiFi 4 to the latest WiFi 7 standard.

Six Asrock Phamtom gaming monitors are shown on stands side by side with the specifications listed below.

The goal here is to boost wireless signals for rigs that are hidden under tables and tucked into obstructive corners. There’s nothing better than a wired connection if you can connect an Ethernet cable to your device, but it’s a godsend for those who don’t have that luxury. And if you don’t want to use it, the antenna on the back is unobtrusive and tasteful, so you don’t have sticky fingers that make your setup look ugly.
