Steam is selling Midnight Suns and both XCOM games at a deep discount

Just in time for Christmas, Firaxis and 2K have announced a big deal for strategy games on Steam, as several of the developer’s titles can be purchased at a discount on Valve’s PC platform. Games like Marvel’s Midnight Suns, XCOM, and XCOM 2 are all available in a bundle that you can grab right now for a limited time.

Firaxis Package Midnight Suns and XCOM 1 and 2 are available from December 22 to January 2., so you don’t have much time to get a three-game pack. The games cost around $57.66 (£47.44 GDP), and while XCOM and XCOM 2 have been heavily discounted before, Midnight Suns is a newer game, so to be fair, getting all three at that price is a steal.

Each is just a version of the base game, so you won’t get season pass access for future additional characters and outfits in Midnight Suns or any of the giant XCOM and XCOM 2 DLC. Still, they’re all worth trying out. of these games endlessly and dive into the DLC if you like what you are playing.

For example, XCOM 2 War of the Chosen turns the base game’s campaign into a whole new and even more challenging experience (I really mean War of the Chosen, so I’ll get started). Basically, there are new factions and abilities, new enemies, new missions, and just a general “extra” layer added to all of XCOM 2.

The kicker comes in the titular Chosen One though, as three super cool and powerful aliens can walk into any mission at any time and utterly destroy you. The goal of XCOM, which is to make your dead soldiers disappear forever, is really on point here, and it makes the entire base game infinitely better. War of the Chosen is really hard, but if you have any doubts about XCOM 2 and this sale makes you dive into it, I would definitely give this DLC a try.

I also loved how Marvel’s Midnight Suns became the new Twitter, if you’re worried about Firaxis taking on a group of superheroes who must share one home in the midst of the apocalypse.

Firaxis is really good at developing strategy games, so Marvel’s Midnight Suns, XCOM, and XCOM 2 should be must-haves for anyone looking to dive into the genre. You can read more about the set on the corresponding Steam page.
