AMD Ryzen 7000 price could drop soon, new CPUs will include coolers

If you’ve been waiting for AMD’s Ryzen 7000 series price drops, you might want to start preparing to buy a processor in the near future. It looks like the Red team plans to release new Zen 4 processors next year, each with a lower suggested retail price. Future chips are even equipped with a cooler, further increasing their value.

Cost has been something of an Achilles heel for AMD’s Ryzen 7000 series in the race to become the best gaming processor in the competition. The processors themselves aren’t necessarily the problem, but combined with the price of AM5 motherboards, DDR5 RAM, and a compatible cooler, investing in a Zen 4 becomes an expensive undertaking.

Fortunately, the arrival of the non-X Ryzen 5 7600, Ryzen 7 7700, and Ryzen 9 7900 should make building a Zen 4 gaming PC a more affordable option. These new processors will start at $229, according to Videocardz, and the only significant differences in specs are their base clocks and TDP, the latter of which drops to 65W.

The AMD Wraith Stealth and Prism coolers that previously came with Ryzen 5000 series processors are also back. Importantly, these CPUs will be entering a market where prices for AM5 motherboards have dropped a bit and budget B650 options are now more widely available. than they were when the Ryzen 7000 was first released.

However, these new Zen 4 chips won’t be the only processors hitting the market next year. The new 13th generation Intel processors are rumored to be launching soon, but we’ll have to wait and see which kit offers the best value.
